We stayed one night at the Heceta Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast, and it was a magical experience. The history, decor, lighthouse, food, and view of the ocean were amazing! Gary took such good care of us, and we feel lucky to be part of such a rich history of lightkeeping. Will definitely visit again.

An amazing place for a getaway trip to the coast or a special occasion. The 7 course breakfast menu rotates so you can stay multiple days and eat something different every time. When we were there the courses were fruit, sweet bread, appetizer, frappe, egg dish, meat and then dessert. They also had self serve tea and coffee you can prepare if you wanted anytime, day or night. The common areas from the kitchen, living room with fireplace and even the front porch were wonderful. Walking up to the lighthouse both during the day and at night, with the provided flashlight, was a treat. Watching the Sea Lions, and wildlife was a bonus.

We enjoyed one of the rare two beautiful days on the Oregon coast in winter. Some of my best memories of living in Oregon were of spending time on the coast, and this has got to be at the very top. From the moment you arrived and saw this beautiful historic lighthouse keepers dwelling, bathed in the light of the setting sun you knew that you were in for one of the most magical experiences of your life. We were walked through the house and shown the pieces of history from its over 100 year existence and were absolutely captivated. Our room on the second floor, Mariner 1, add a view that overlooked the rolling waves and the colony of seals that took advantage of the perfect set that rolled in. Several species of birds could be heard and viewed from our room, and we spent countless hours sitting in the comfortable bed, just taking in the sound of the ocean and the animals that shared our space. I still cannot believe the incredible breakfast that we experienced in the company of all of the other guests, who quickly became what felt like friends. From the locally sourced, fresh berries, to the locally caught crabcakes, to the palate cleansing mango frappe, to the perfectly cooked eggs in a flaky puff pastry, and finally to the scrumptious triple berry crisp we were absolutely satisfied and amazed at how much flavor food could have. It was an easy walk to the lighthouse from the keepers house, and I was thrilled to find out that the lighthouse was open and staffed by a volunteer who explained the wonderful history of the Heceta Head lighthouse, and the families who had tended it. We were right in the middle of what I truly believe is the most beautiful stretch of coast in Oregon. And far enough away from everything to feel like you had been transported into another time and realm and space. I cannot wait to go back here!

I have stayed here twice, and the staff is very welcoming. I felt completely at ease. We wanted to linger past checkout time to watch the King Tide, and they invited us to stay in the public rooms on the main floor. Then they arranged to leave one of the guest bathrooms open for our use. We felt like we were visiting friends.

We stayed for a wonderful night at the Heceta Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast. The place was beautifully presented, warm, friendly and definitely a special treat. Walking up to the lighthouse at night was fun and the whole experience was lovely. We didn’t go out for dinner but stayed in, brought some snacks, a bottle of wine, sat on the balcony and enjoyed the view. The bed was comfy and breakfast was delicious. Shout out to Gary who was amazing. Enjoy

The historic lighthouse keeper's home is beautiful and in a great location for visiting the beautiful coastal parks in the area. We loved walking on the beach nearby after breakfast, it was much easier to see the birds at low tide on the rocks offshore than it is at the more famous Cannon Beach. The breakfast was delicious and the service attentive and friendly.

A unique and beautiful stop along the Oregon coast. Sitting on the porch with a glass of wine is about as comfortable and relaxed as a human can get. Our view from the room was also south facing and worth the upgraded charge even though we spent very little time in the room. Breakfast is a unique 7 course presentation that the staff clearly puts a ton of love and effort into. Glad we spent a night here as we travelled up the coast. Highly recommend if you want to relax and experience staying in a haunted light-keepers residence.
